*About Us* Montessori Lab School at Grand Center (MLS) was founded in 2014 under its parent organization, the AMI-affiliated teacher training program, Montessori Training Center of St.
Louis (MTCSTL).
Montessori Lab School is meant to serve as a model environment, one that strives to be the realization of Maria Montessori’s ideals.
MLS currently serves a diverse community of around 100 children, ages 15 months through 6th grade in authentic Montessori environments built to support each child’s independence, sense of responsibility, and holistic development.
Overall, MTCSTL and MLS aim to influence the landscape of education by providing high-fidelity Montessori training for teachers and authentic Montessori education for children with its developmentally-based, student-centered learning model.

*About You* We’re looking for the ideal Administrative Assistant who is: * Able to support the the day-to-day operations of the Montessori Lab School.
* Experienced in working with children in some capacity, eager to support classroom needs.
* Meticulously organized, systems-minded, with strong record-keeping and time management skills.
* Flexible, positive, solutions-oriented, with the ability to attend to and prioritize competing needs.
* Socially-engaged, collaborative, and passionate about supporting a dedicated team of education professionals and families.
* An impeccable oral and written communicator with sincere interest in our mission and community.
* A team player that can manage their own roles and jump in to support in any aspect of our program when needed--subbing in a classroom, plunging a toilet, supporting an event.
* Interested in Montessori education, its impact on our local community, and its unique ability to meet the developmental needs of the individual.
* Technologically savvy with the ability to use and problem-solve hardware and software challenges.
* Has some knowledge or is willing to learn basic finance skills.
Desirable though not required: Multilingual including English and Spanish *About The Role* Montessori Lab School at Grand Center is dedicated to finding a strong-fit administrative assistant that will be a long-term asset to our organization, and who has the skills to perform a wide variety of administrative, classroom, and clerical tasks.
In this role, you will: * Work closely with and under the advisement of the Community Director and other MTCSTL/MLS leadership * Use and/or develop systems to ensure efficiency in day-to-day operations * Confidently, professionally, and thoughtfully respond to individuals via phone, email, and social media messaging * Maintain accurate, current student and staff files in alignment with federal, state, and city requirements * Support the process to secure and maintain necessary licenses, affiliations, and accreditations * Schedule meetings, appointments, observations, student teachers, and tours * Support the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reports in partnership with our accounts manager * Support staff needs within and outside of the classroom * Substitute from time to time in classrooms * Oversee and support after school programming * Support a variety of after-school and weekend events, including monthly Community Gatherings.
