Position Summary
Position works within the research administrative team to prepare, analyze, and present financial information, which provides faculty and research teams with documentation used in planning and budgeting research grants, contracts, clinical trials and department funds.
This position will work primarily with the Hematology/Oncology Division in Pediatrics and will work closely with the clinical research team.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Collects, analyzes and maintains financial data to produce monthly and quarterly financial reports used by faculty and their research teams.
Assists with the development and implementation of systems to monitor clinical trial funds, ensuring invoices are sent and payments are received timely; enter payments in to database for tracking
Prepares and may present financial reports to faculty and research teams related to their accounts, payroll and personnel administration, grants administration, purchasing and accounts payable/receivable functions.
Designs and implements processes and account approval practices used, and will extract information from the financial system to report data to faculty and their research teams.
Prepares and presents financial reports for management.
Attends meetings and relevant trainings to ensure compliance with guidelines and policies for the respective funding agencies, Washington University, and the Department of Pediatrics.
Assists faculty and their research teams in determining available funding related to their project needs or based on anticipated revenues generated.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of computers and spreadsheets, with analytical skills and University accounting systems (ie.
Workday).
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability develop and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis and build action plans for financial analysis that identify gaps and tactics to aid/supply management with creative solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with one year experience or combined course work in discipline and work experience totaling five years.

Salary Range
$22.
92 - $35.
49 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
