Junior Camp Counselor - Chesterfield YMCA

Follow general direction and perform other duties as assigned of by the Day Camp Director, Assistant Day Camp Director, and Camp Counselor.
Ensure the individual needs of the children are met within the program guidelines.
Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with the Gateway Region YMCA policies.
Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people, including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
Ensure YMCA policies and guidelines are followed at all times.
Maintain an environment that ensures children’s safety and well-being.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
Assist counselor in development of program content and special events.
All other duties assigned.

Must be 16+ years of age and experience working with children Completed at least one year in the YMCA Counselor In Training Program (CIT) Attended at least one year of Day Camp as a camper Ability to relate to children, parents, branch staff members and volunteers Must become CPR/First Aid Certified within established YMCA timeline.
Full Compensation Package (when applicable): 403(b) Retirement Savings Retirement fund of 12% per pay period after completing 1,000 hours of service during any two 12-month period.
