SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Community Troop Program Assistant is accountable for representing and extending Girl Scouting in the community through serving as an assistant Girl Scout Leader to multiple troops.
Community Troop Program Assistant ensures the Girl Scout program is accessible and delivered throughout the assigned jurisdiction, as well as across demographic groups.

This is a part-time position with variable weekly work hours depending upon scheduled programming.
Many of the work hours will be in the afternoon, and the position is required to work some weekends.
The starting hourly wage for this position is $23.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist Community Troop Manager with supervising and engaging the girls with Girl Scout programming (e.
g.
, activities, snack, bathroom breaks, clean up etc.
)
Ensure the community troop experience is relevant, high quality, well rounded, consistent, and meeting the needs of our girls
Assist Community Troop Program with monthly field trip/event experiences
Assist Community Troop Program to make certain girls in this program have exposure to all the programs Girl Scouts offers (e.
g.
, Product Programs, camp, community service, etc.
)
Promotes Girl Scouting in the community by building awareness through networking and cultivating relationships with school administration, local youth organizations, etc
Understands all program level requirements (e.
g.
, uniform components, Journey options, additional badge work, specific program level award requirements, etc.
)
Responsible for overall compliance with any applicable internal policies and guidelines
Have a good rapport with children and youth of all abilities
Be comfortable in conflict resolution
Represents the organization in a professional manner always and communicates effectively
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old.
HS diploma and direct work-related experience required
Works collaboratively both internally and externally
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to manage a flexible schedule, work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends
Has a reliable vehicle that can be used for work purposes
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If your position requires that you drive an average of one (1) day per week or more, you must possess a valid state driver’s license and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the person in this position:
Must be able to physically move around 75% while working with children in cafeterias, gyms, and outdoor playgrounds
May need to move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for Girl Scout programming
The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
Is required to drive/ operate an automobile.
EXPOSURES
Work is performed in a normal indoor environment with limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dirt and/or dust.
