Summer Camp Counselor

Camp Counselors Hours are 7-4pm or 8-5pm.
There are only day-shift counselors.
This camp is not overnight or have housing.
This camp is looking for camp counselors to explore with children ages 5-11 years old.
Date requirements are June 2nd for orientation from 9am-4pm and June 3rd-July 31st for camp from 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm.
Camp counselors will be working with children from 7-4 or 8-5 with 1 hour breaks.
The camp will be indoors and outdoors with scheduled field trips.
This camp is looking for FULL-TIME only.
*Responsibilities:* * Plans, leads, and execute camp programs for children.
* Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
* Supervises campers and ensures their safety and general well-being.
* Keep track of campers development, cognitive growth, and skills.
* Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
* Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily activities.
* Ensures the cleanliness of the site.
* Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
* Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
* Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are properly distributed to each camper.
* Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of your campers at all times.
* Punctual *Requirements:* * A minimum of 6 college credit hours (in any subject) * Candidates must also be energetic, patient, and creative; be passionate about learning and children; have the ability to multitask; and have the ability to communicate and work well with others as part of a team * Enjoys being in the company of children * Leadership * Alertness * Communication skills * Patience * Problem-solving skills * Stamina * Caring personality * Organization skills * Mediation skills * Must be able to carry heavy loads and travel hilly and uneven terrain * Ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates Hep A Vaccination, Covid-19 Vaccination, a recent TB Test * Must pass a comprehensive background check * *Preferences:* A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR 9+ college credit hours in early childhood education, child development, youth development, or child/family related courses.
