Job Summary:
The Summer Camp Youth Specialist is a seasonal position for summer 2024 and performs transportation of clients, facilitate group sessions, assist with wraparound and prevention education.
The Summer Camp Youth Specialist delivers group education sessions and provides supervision for up to 35 youth ages 5-13.
Dates for this position run from June 3rd through July 26th, 2024.
Rate of Pay Transparency:
$19-$20 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide supervision to youth to ensure safety and enjoyment
Assist in developing and delivering group education material
Attend staff meetings to develop strategies that correct problem areas designed to meet the needs of individual clients
Transport adolescents to and from summer camp
Provide sensitivity to cultural differences and special needs of various marginalized groups
Provide community resources including functions of other social service agencies
Evaluate and work effectively with youth to implement summer programming
Provide sensitivity to the emotional needs of adolescents
Utilize case management software to complete incident reports, case notes, and other essential documentation related to clients
Travel throughout St.
Louis City to transport camp kids to the building
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Bachelor degree in counseling, psychology, criminal justice or related field preferred, high school diploma required
Willingness to travel throughout St.
Louis City
Basic computer competency to complete electronic documentation
Must possess a Valid Class E Driver's License required
Must have current automobile insurance for transporting clients
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions
This position may require working off-site for events and meetings.
Assigned hours are at the discretion of the program director.
Physical Requirements
The Summer Camp Youth Specialist must be able to spend extended periods of time sitting, standing, walking for extended periods of time as well as operating a computer.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively.
The physical requirements of this job include sitting standing, walking; lifting up to 100 lbs, pulling and/or pushing on occasion.
