After School Program Supervisor

*CITY OF Wood River, Illinois* *POSITION TITLE: After School Program Supervisor* *DEPARTMENT:* Parks and Recreation *SUPERVISOR:* Recreation Center Manager *JOB SCOPE:* The Supervisor is responsible to assist the full-time recreation center staff with daily activities and supervision of the after-school program.
*Principle Duties and Responsibilities* · Provides a safe environment for children.
· Oversees and coordinates activities that keep children engaged physically and mentally.
· Assists in general housekeeping duties applicable to the after school program.
· Maintains confidentiality regarding individual children.
· Assists in directing instructional games and supervising children inside and outside the recreation center and with gross motor activities.
· Takes charge of small groups of children.
· Assists children to move from one activity to another in an orderly manner.
· Writes accident and incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence.
· Wears staff shirt or appropriate attire when on duty.
· Helps children get settled upon arrival and assists with helping them exit the building when the program ends.
· Adheres to proper safety techniques and utilizes safety equipment.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
*Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required* - Background check must be completed and passed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the staff, parents, children, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
*Education, Certification and Experience Required* Requires high school graduation or equivalent.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.

25 per hour Schedule: * 4 hour shift * 8 hour shift Work Location: Multiple locations
