Sewing rocker manufactured by Charles Stickley.
Quartersawn white oak.
Branded "Chas.
Stickley".
Excellent condition.
Charles used a variety of different shop marks to identify his mission furniture.
This Chas Stickley impression was used circa 1909-1918.
The chair was made by Stickley and Brandt.
Charles Stickley (1860-1927) founded and operated the Stickley and Brandt Chair Co.
in Binghamton, NY from 1891-1919.
He manufactured period style furniture prior to introducing a line of mission designs in 1909.
Judging by the number of surviving pieces, when compared to the work of his brothers Gustav, L.
& J.
G.
or Albert Stickley, we can assume that mission designs were a limited part of his production.
More photos available upon request.
Sold "as is".
"As is" denotes that the seller is selling, and the buyer is buying an item in whatever condition it presently exists, and that the buyer is accepting the item "with all faults", whether or not immediately apparent.
