Responsibilities: The main responsibility in this role is to ensure products imported and exported by Post comply with both country of origin and international trade regulations.
Duties mainly involve creating and implementing internal policies to ensure a company-wide compliance with domestic and international shipping requirements, custom regulations and trade laws.
The manager will work in any company that imports and exports products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Leads team to support entire enterprise varied portfolio of food products and international business transactions.
Coordinate with the entire supply chain logistics team as the subject matter expert for international transactions and certifications.
Develop, implement, and maintain import and export related procedures to ensure compliance with federal agency requirements and expedite the clearance of product through US and Canadian Customs and other global regulatory agencies.
Represent the company with government inquiries and challenges.
Establish best in class global logistics operations network leveraging ocean carrier relationships and ensuring port to port operations consistently deliver on cost and service.
Identify enhancements to operations, logistics and supply chain and lead implementation of cross-functional improvements.
Manage all response and communications with US Customs, FDA and USDA regarding entries, requests for import information, etc.
Act as the corporate representative and develop positive relationships between the Company and the appropriate government officials and agencies to support trade compliance programs.
Provide subject matter expertise to Company personnel on special trade programs and cost-saving opportunities; drive continuous improvement and cost savings by identifying appropriate duty classifications and preferential duty programs.
Continually monitor countries’ changing regulatory requirements.
Serve as primary resource to design, integrate, implement and maintain international supply chain visibility systems across all business units.
Responsible for all aspects of Customs audit programs and for ensuring compliance with Importer Security Filings requirements.
Customs compliance programs such as ACH Drawback; C-TPAT.
ISA and CEE.
Lead engagement and performance of external customs broker including coordinating clearance through US Customs and on-time deliveries to company.
Develop strategy for cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement.
Communicate across all business units, foreign subsidiaries, foreign suppliers and customers, transportation, the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all border crossing regulations.
Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree Licensed US Customs Broker Certified Export Specialist (preferred CSS: Master Customs Specialist) Experience: 7+ years of experience in International Trade Compliance and Global Logistics Operations Experience dealing with major transportation carriers, especially ocean freight carriers pertaining to commercial terms, capacity, and efficient management of costs Experience required in practical interpretation of Title 19 CFR, global tariff classification and other government agency trade requirements including ADD/CVD, FDA, NOAA, OFAC and USDA Global business documentation and certificates such as Free Trade, Certificate of Origin, Letters of Credit.
Knowledge of COSO and internal controls Required Skills: Strong management, coaching and leadership skills.
Must be highly skilled at working in a team environment and influencing others to achieve desired results.
Capacity to work with senior management on corporate-wide or cross-functional issues.
Experienced at managing outside consultants and brokers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills who demonstrates highly developed critical thinking and judgment, initiative, and a sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently within assigned areas of responsibility.
