Financial Aid Compliance Officer
Description
• Monitor and interpret federal regulations that affect Title IV programs and any impacts on
University policies and practices.
• Regularly audit financial aid office processes, including but not limited to award
determination/packaging, budgeting/COA, professional judgement, verification, SAP, R2T4,
disbursement, and enrollment reporting
• Assess current aid practices and provide reports and recommendations to leadership for
adjustments to policy and process that improve consistency, mitigate risk, and prioritize
compliance with federal and state aid regulations
• Provide leadership, guidance, and coordination for Gainful Employment (GE) reporting
• Identify areas of inconsistency and provide recommendations for improvement
• Regularly review all aid-related websites university-wide for compliance with Title IV and send
necessary updates to office web liaisons
• Review and consistently update consumer information disclosures in collaboration with Academic
Affairs
• Administer the SAVE process and the Unusual Enrollment History (UEH) processes, as
needed
• Provide leadership for with the preparation of information and documents for Single Audit and
Program Reviews at the federal and state level
• Conduct training for financial aid staff on compliance related issues and provide support for
questions from the financial aid office staff team
• Support federal login and access for staff as the secondary DPA
• Coordinate oversight of access to aid information within the University and ensure compliance
with FERPA, IRS, HEA, and other agency rules as applicable
• Provide leadership for the ongoing updating of the Policy and Procedures manual
• Provide supervision for R2T4 and verification staff
• Respond to claims of federal aid fraud or identity theft, as needed.
• Chair the Financial Aid Appeals committee, which includes the review and evaluation of SAP
appeals and Professional Judgement requests

Minimum Qualifications
• Requires Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 Years of experience in a financial aid or Title IV compliance role
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PowerFAIDS Financial Aid Management system
Experience with R2T4, verification, and/federal loan processing
NASFAA Financial Aid Administrator Certification (FAAC)
Previous experience with the development of policies and procedures
Prior experience assisting with compiling audit materials
