FULL-TIME PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT POSITION

has an opening for a Full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant position beginning immediately.
We are seeking a candidate with zero to five years of legal experience to assist with litigation relating to real estate, construction, commercial/business transactions, insurance defense, and personal injury.
Successful candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation related to representation of clients, communicating with clients regarding case updates and obtaining documentation, assisting attorneys with client intake, organizing and maintaining electronic client files, calendaring court dates, deadlines, and meetings, filing pleadings, motions, and other documentation with the court, and generally handling administrative tasks related to the operations of a law firm.
Successful candidate will work full-time in our office which is located in Clayton, MO:

Compensation: dependent upon experience
Firm laptop, printer/scanner, necessary hardware and software will be provided to successful candidate to carry out job responsibilities.

, authorizations, record subpoenas, notices for hearings and depositions, routine orders, etc.
)
• Locating parties and witnesses
• Arranging for service of process
• Handling records requests and related follow up (e.
g.
, medical, tax, IRS, employment, union, investigative materials, etc.
)
• Routine review of records (employment, medical, tax, etc.
)
• Summarizing records and preparation of related timelines and chronologies
• Routine internet research; including social media, background searches, and other related investigative tasks
• Performing non-legal and medical research
• Drafting form pleadings (e.
g.
, entry of appearance, jury demand, stipulation to extend time to answer, etc.
)
• Drafting initial or form/template discovery requests
• Checking discovery status
• Preparing Freedom of Information Act/Sunshine requests
• Working with outside copy and litigation support vendors
• Drafting standard motions to compel
• Checking dockets or searching for pleadings online (including PACER related activity)
• Routine phone calls with Courts
• Summarizing answers/responses/objections to written discovery
• Preparing page-line deposition/EUO summaries (only permitted with prior approval and when trial is imminent; the trial start date must be noted in the billing entry)
• Cite checking and Shepardizing cases
• Gathering exhibits for motions and depositions
• Creating demonstrative exhibits for trial; and
• Routine lien related tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $46,000.
