Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP is seeking summer associates to join our St.
Louis office during the Summer of 2024.
Applicants should be entering their 2L year in the Fall of 2023 (graduating Spring of 2025).
This position is a fully in-person position in our downtown St.
Louis office.
The ideal candidates should have excellent academic credentials, writing and research skills, and an interest in litigation.
We select summer associates based on their outstanding scholarship and character, proven leadership and interpersonal skills, dedicated development of advocacy and trial skills, and passionate commitment to trial work.
Summer associates become part of the team at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP.
Mentors provide personal guidance for each summer associate, while they work on a variety of projects with attorneys across multiple practice areas.
Derived from our full-time associate review process, summer associates receive a mid-summer and end-of-summer review tracking their progress.
We also encourage summer associates to join in the firm’s social activities such as intramural sports teams, golf outings, cocktail receptions, formal dinners and special summer program events.
Summer associates receive daily opportunities to acquire hands-on litigation and trial skills including, but not limited to: conducting legal and medical research, drafting a variety of motions and memorandums, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, appearing for proceedings in state and federal court, assisting with and observing depositions, and preparing for and observing trials.
